About

Dedicated by Bishop William L. Higi in 2005 the Schoenstatt Wayside Shrine in Indiana is a place of grace nestled on the outskirts of Delphi in a wilderness setting on Highway 421 West. This Shrine is dedicated to the “Mother of the Eucharist,” and one day a chapel and visitor center will be built on the site. Our Wayside Shrine is a place of pilgrimage where people can experience relief from the stresses of daily life and receive the three pilgrimage graces:

The Grace of being at home with God

The Grace of inner transformation

The Grace of an apostolic mission

Nothing without your Mother; Nothing without us

The purpose of Schoenstatt of Indiana is to foster the charisms of the Schoenstatt world-wide movement in the church. Schoenstatt aims to renew the church and world through the Covenant of Love with the Blessed Mother Thrice Admirable, drawing us closer to the Triune God. Through this covenant we have a living partnership with Mary. “Nothing without you Mother; nothing without us” is our motto.

Schoenstatt of Indiana was legally incorporated as a not-for-profit organization in the fall of 2005 and received its official recognition in August 2006 as a tax exempt charitable organization. The Indiana Schoenstatt family joyfully proclaims the message and mission of the founder Father Joseph Kentenich to draw people into Schoenstatt Spiritually forming them in everyday sanctity and instrument piety. The Blessed Mother forms the new person in the new community in the image of her Son. She also helps us form strong and holy families for the church.

As a movement of education and spirituality we offer monthly Holy Hours at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lafayette, with Scripture, meditations written by our founder Fr. Joseph Kentenich, the rosary, and Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament; Monthly Rosary Walks; Days of Recollection for youth and adults with talks, discussions, activities, and holy Mass; Formation days in the “Covenant of Love” spirituality and preparing for Home Shrine piety; Schoenstatt Pilgrim Mother Campaign; Mothers’ League Couples study groups; Couples study groups; and Home Shrine dedications with families.

“Take this picture of the Mother of God and give it a place of honor in your home. In this way they will become little shrines in which the picture of grace mediates grace, creates a holy family land and forms holy members of the family.”

Father Joseph Kentenich
